After all the madness of Black Friday, which by the way I didn’t actually give into, Christmas is the next (best thing) to come. With only four weeks left to tick off the calendar, it’s time to prepare for the festivities. Family gatherings, friendly piss-ups and the one night of the year deemed acceptable to let your hair down a little without any real regrets (hopefully). I’m of course referencing the annual works Christmas party. This to me, is an event to really get wrapped up in. Think sparkles and glitter! I absolutely love love love dressing up for an occasion like this. I adore seeing everybody around me making that extra special effort, dresses, shirt and ties, ladies and gentlemen, all raising our glasses and toasting to a night of debauchery (our minds already on the thought of that recovery 11am pizza delivery the next day).

This year it’s an office to #outout situation. No time to head home and freshen up. So I wanted to run through a few beauty tips I have to up my sleeve to easily go from working nine ’til wine, so to speak.

First things first, don’t over do it. If like me, fully comfortable with your colleagues that you see day in and day out, hold back on plastering a full face of make-up that morning. It’s best to set your base and then build things up that afternoon. Emails out of the way, plastic prosecco flute in hand, it’s time to begin party mode, which for me starts with a little (okay, a lot) gleeful glow. A multi-purpose palette is the best product to take to the office that day. Think an important make-up checklist of bronze, blush and of course a little glimmer. The Nip and Fab Travel Make-up Palette is something that proudly I (and quickly) swiped from the office advent calendar which this year was the You Beauty Advent Calendar from Latest in Beauty. Boy, was it a good steal! I’ve been using this on the regular as the three pans are equally as good. Strong pigment and admittedly really good quality. Being a multi-purpose palette there are many uses for the powders too. Not just your average bronzer, blush and highlight. Oh no! I recommend using the bronzer for that all important contour but not just on the cheeks, use on the lids for a make-do eye shadow! Although a blusher is included in the palette I have thrown in an extra option. Reason being, the only time I prefer a dewy look over a matte one is at Christmas time. There is something about ‘I’ve had one prosecco too many’ rosy cheeks. I like to achieve this look by firstly downing too many glasses of fizz (as the title suggests) and two my Kiko Velvet Touch Creamy Stick Blush. Top tip: perfect for a quick sweep on the lips too, ya know, just in case you fancy puckering up at the ol’ Christmas do… not talking from experience of course *inserts rolling eye emoji here*

Another desk friendly way to joosh up your beauty game is to simply paint your nails. It’s as simple as that! Glitter nail varnishes are all the rage at Christmas, it just wouldn’t be the same without a sparkling mani! I’ve been reaching for a gorgeous rose gold glitter from All That Jazz* and the shade is named Rosa. It’s beautiful! There’s tonnes of lovely shades to pick from which you can have a browse of here.

So there you have it, my quick and easy beauty tips to get you in the party spirit! If you’re off to a Christmas party yourself then I wish you a fabulous night and most importantly, don’t do anything I wouldn’t do! Ha! (A note to old work colleagues, what happens at the office party stays at the office party, ahem).
