This time yesterday I was taking in the beautiful scenery of Düsseldorf, Germany and today I’m back at the office staring into my computer screen.. sigh. Although the trip itself was a brief one night stay with work, that didn’t stop me having a nose around and sampling the delicious delights!

Germany was a first for me, from what I can remember I don’t think I have ever been before. Obviously, with it being such a quick trip I was limited in what I could do, so I thought best to spend my time there wisely (you guessed it; scenery and food). As I mentioned I was there for work and I had two beauty brands with me which meant I got to have a peek at two very beautiful hotels.

I was staying at the Radisson Blu Media Harbour Hotel which was really lovely. My room was rather interesting, it was essentially an open plan space with the sleeping area and shower room separated by a single glass panel (unfrosted might I add) – good job I was staying on my own eh! Very quirky indeed. They say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, well this place sure knows how to put on a spread. They took this saying above and beyond! The choice was unbelievable from the beverages to the banquet, salmon to sausages, just take your pick! They were also serving a fresh homemade smoothie made with grapefruit and blood orange, it was absolutely divine and totally fulfilled my usual at home morning nutribullet needs.

The other hotel that I was lucky enough to pop over to for a spot of lunch was the gorgeous Hyatt Regency and I have to say that this place was seriously top notch! With the weather being pleasantly warm and super sunny the skies were just calling out for a photo. The views from the hotel window across the harbour were totally picturesque, and it was nice to get a glimpse of the famous Rheinturm telecommunications tower. Apparently they have a revolving restaurant at the top.. how cool?! Unfortunately, I didn’t get a chance to see that but I did indulge in a rather delicious beetroot burger in the DOX Bar at the Hyatt Regency so I couldn’t really complain. My tummy and my eyes were completely satisfied by the end of my time there.

I was in and out of Düsseldorf within 48 hours, so sadly I didn’t get to see many of the sights and I would absolutely love to discover more of them! I’ll just have to convince work to send me again.. hehe! If you have any recommendations, then I would love to hear them!

  • ALL about the scenery and food. Your priorities are in check, girl!

I’ve only been to Germany once before but I absolutely loved it, we stayed in the Rhine Valley and I remember not being able to believe how clean and neat everything was!
