Last year all things copper and rose gold were bought to our attention in a big way, from smaller home interior touches such as lamp shades and candles to the extravagance of bed frames, the trend kicked off big time! I have to say there seems to be no sign of it slowing down either which is something that I am more than happy about.
It has taken me a while to introduce anything of this style into my home but now that I have a good understanding of what I do and don’t like I have started to experiment a little more with colour schemes. After a lot of inspiration fuelled from hours of Pinterest lustin’ it seems that there are a few variations to this copper craze. I think I’m more drawn to the pink rose tones over the brassy golds as I find they are a little too much for me, almost old fashioned. My living room is adorned with grey and silver hues, the main focal point is a gorgeous rustic style lantern and although mis-matching could be cool I also don’t want the risk of creating clutter. My bedroom attracts the most natural light, it’s a very white open space so a great canvas for some copper delights.
I made a real discovery in Waitrose the other day in the form of their homewares section, well more of a section dedicated to all things kitchen but I tell you now it’s the bomb! It was about 3.30pm on a Sunday afternoon so just a quick trip to grab some supplies such as chocolate etc.. you know just a few necessities for an evening confined to my sofa! I had seen some gorgeous oriental dinner bowls online that I thought would be lovely for serving up staple stir fry meals especially when entertaining friends. I felt like my eyes were going to pop out of my head, I wanted to go and inspect everything in sight but knowing that I only had about 20 minutes left in the shop my intentions were to stick to the bowls and leave any impulsive purchases for another day, until I caught a glimpse of some serious copper cuteness. There was absolutely no way I was leaving these wired heart shaped baskets behind, at the time I had no clue what I was going to use them for and I’m still playing around with that now but they were such a steal at £12.00 for the pair.
I’m no longer a newbie to this popular interior choice, my first purchase is in the bag and I doubt it’s going to be my last..
