The Favourites Edition: February 16

February gave us an extra day thanks to leap year and yet I still manage to get behind on my Monthly Favourites post – bad blogger award goes to me! I’m not one for excuses but I have experienced a pretty intense month, a new chapter starts for me soon as I have bagged myself a new job in London. I’m making a move into the beauty industry and I’m absolutely bursting with happiness!

I’ve been loving a mix of beauty and home this month and surprisingly, as you can see, I’ve got a real girly theme going on. Pink isn’t normally my kind of thing but I have been drawn to some cute home touches. I finally caved and purchased a beautiful coffee table book that I have had my eye on from Kate Spade. I’ll let you into a little secret too, it’s slightly shallow but I totally bought this for the front cover, the familiar gold detailing is just so pretty. ‘All in good taste’ is a lifestyle book full of tips from cocktail making, dinner party prepping all to stepping out of a taxi with style. This book is a real talking point when I’ve got the girl gang over for a cappuccino filled catch up. Speaking of coffee, we just need to discuss the dreamy candle above. This was kindly given to me as a gift, it’s a luscious vanilla & coffee bean candle handmade by Beauty Scents, it’s too pretty to burn but it makes my living room smell absolutely divine.

Moving onto beauty and these next two go hand in hand, both from my monthly Birchbox so although I have not been using them for long both are equally impressive. I’m completely obsessed with the Spectrum Collections tapered powder brush, just look at that glorious dip dye design. I’m desperate to get my hands on the rest of the range, they are so aesthetically pleasing and just perfect for that Sunday morning Instagram shot. Although the name implies powder brush I have found that the tapered edge is ideal for contouring and brushing over the apples of the cheeks with a flush of colour… queue the next fave. If you’re looking for intense pigment then this blush is for you, Frat Boy by The Balm is incredible for cheeks and believe it or not eyelids too!

Catch you in the March favourites, which by the way I assure you will be on time.. scouts honour!

How lovely of you to drop by!
