Girlies, I need to inform you urgently that pastel nail shades are out this season! We’ve got something new in town to play with, think bright and think very bold. I know it’s so easy to stay loyal to pretty pinks but hear me out on this one, I’m willing to jump out of my comfort zone and you should too. It’s time to try something different and I have to say this is slowly but surely becoming my 2016 mantra. Sometimes, you just need to start small and what better way than with a brand new nail shade… oh, hello pop of colour!
Leighton Denny is going all fearless on us with a brand new Spring/Summer collection, appropriately named Tribal Fever. Inspired by catwalk looks this range is certainly set to get heads turning. With the year absolutely flying by already, it won’t be long before summer lands on our door step. If our typical British summers are anything to go by, you’re going to need a little more than a hint of sunshine and a flake ice cream to get into the sizzling spirit so these daring colours will no doubt get temperatures rising.
There are six shades to choose from and I opted to try the two blue hues from the range, Skinny Dippin’ (left) and Desert Rain (right). The bright royal blue is just so stunning, it’s like nothing I’ve ever come across and I have to say it’s my favourite of them all. The colour really stands out from other nail shades, it’s vibrant, fun and very on trend, in fact there was so much hype about this colour backstage at The Brits this year. A pop of this on the nails would stand out so well with a healthy tan whilst being a great addition to any outfit, I would suggest pairing with some ripped mom jeans for a more edgy look. Who would have thought that you could achieve that double denim look with your nails too?
Of course, a Leighton Denny product wouldn’t be the same without a little QVC airtime, one just doesn’t go without the other. If you fancy seeing how they apply with such ease then pop on over for a demo. It’s always great to see a product in action if you’ve yet to make your mind up about it.
So, who’s up for being brave? Go on, release that inner diva…
