The Birchbox Edition: February 16

With February bringing all things love & romance, Birchbox had their monthly theme on point as always. Think girly and glistening, ‘shine bright like a diamond’ was rewarding one lucky winner with a rather fancy diamond necklace… ooer! Unfortunately, I’ve never been one for a winning streak.

I often have a sneaky peak over on Instagram before the boxes are shipped out as there is usually a little teaser and this month was no different, there was a big buzz around the Spectrum Collections bonus addition to the beauty box.  Every subscriber was treated to a gorgeous tapered powder brush and when I say gorgeous I really mean that, it’s wonderfully soft! I also think we need to take a moment to appreciate the design, right? Pops of pink and purple make for a very pretty make up brush. This is a winning product for me; it’s my absolute favourite of the bunch. There is just one snag, this lovely little brush is looking rather lonely on my vanity table, I guess I’ll just have to invest in the rest…

This month consisted of a lovely array of products and samples from beauty to skincare.  A few other favourites for me included a rather adorable mini sized blusher from The Balm in the well-known shade Frat Boy as well as a silky smooth Milk Protein cleanser from Korres. Covering the make up basis is a lovely eye-shadow stick from Loc, this is what you call power in a pencil, the pigment in this thing is insane. I have worn this several times since receiving my box and i have been extremely expressed with the longevity of the colour, i can whack this on my lids at 7am – with ease might I add (no technique needed here) and it’s very much still glowing with shimmer at 7pm.

It’s always nice to get some well known brands in a box, not that I don’t like discovering new products but sometimes its nice to receive something more familiar and I have to say I was one happy lady with the above, a really great box out my subscription so far. I’m already looking forward to the arrival of Mr Postman next month…

How lovely of you to drop by!
