The Favourites Edition: September 15

This months favourites are a mixed bag of beauty, home and fashion, some old and some new to talk to you about. Lets start with the familiar. I haven’t stopped wearing these stackable rings from New Look, i have had so many compliments on them and they are very comparable to something from Dixi or Lunar MadeI adore them so much that they featured in a post all by themselves recently, i just love the vintage look about them and i’m all for jewellery adorned with gemstones.

I’m completely homeware obsessed right now, i’m moving into a house by myself at the end of the year and the majority of my spare time is currently spent trawling youtube for hauls and obsessing over colour schemes and girly accessories (i’m avoiding the boring stuff until absolutely necessary). Vinegar Hill is everything you could want in a homeware shop, i find myself wandering in here all the time, luckily for me there is one in my local shopping town and i love browsing the shelves for kitsch and quirky pieces. Word on the street is that a website is launching very soon and they are releasing an exclusive sign up discount! On one of my many trips i picked up a very Autumnal scented candle, i just can’t resist and Vinegar Hill do their own range of seasonal tin candles. Chassis and Cedar – doesn’t that just sound divine, it’s a really woody, earthy scent, perfect for that chilly transition into Autumn.

Speaking of scents, i was lucky enough to be sent a new fragrance release tester from Jo Malone. This has Autumn/Winter all over it, mimosa and cardamon really packs a punch, it has a deep spicy note to it which is something that i really like. The cardamon is the top note and this comes through really strong yet it’s not too over powering, there are additons of mimosa and tonka which work together to add touches of warm floral scents and light vanilla. I’m really tempted to pick up a full sized bottle and make this my signature scent throughout the colder months, i think a spritz of this spiced fragrance on a cold morning will take the edge off the chill.

My final favourite reverts back to beauty and it’s in the form of a primer. I blame Lily Melrose for this purchase as she used it on a GRWM video, our skin types seem very similar and this product gave her a lovely look to the skin when she used it on camera. Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Fatigue Blur Primer aims to reduce pores and smooth and hydrate the skin. I really like the result this product gives. I have used this for a couple of weeks and it definitely sets the skin for foundation application, i find that when i have used the primer make up itself sinks into the skin with ease thus giving a more flawless finish. I have mentioned before that my skin can look on the sallow side so the hints of apricot colour in this primer really help with adding a flush of colour to the skin and working on blurring out any redness or problematic areas.

I’m sure i’ll be appreciating all of these favourites as we move into the colder months. I’m certainly already struggling to adjust to the temperature change, let’s just hope i don’t turn into hibernation mode before the next favourites come around.
