Lunch dates are totally my thing and i’m all for an extravagant lunch too. Ever since i took a visit to Loche Fyne, which you can read back on here, i have become obsessed with lobster! Now you know why i used the word extravagant but hey, we all deserve a treat here and there.
I stumbled across Smack Lobster Roll Deli on a recent trip to London, totally flagging after some serious shopping i was in desperate need of a pick me up to continue my spree. Before we get into the food, which is why you are here, firstly I just want to say how lovely the staff were. They were so welcoming and friendly but not in that pushy, fake way, they were all so genuine and truly interested in how my day was going. They were honestly a breathe of fresh air.
So, the food. The menu was super simple, a choice of four rolls, a few sides and a great selection of beverages. I ended up going for a roll AND two sides (yeah yeah, i’m a pig) but boy, i was so excited when i saw courgette fries on the menu. I can assure you they did not disappoint but what knocked my socks off was the lobster bisque, holy moly this was just soooo scrummy, My roll of choice was the California which was a really fresh combination of lettuce, tomato, cucumber, avocado and mayo with lime, all washed down with a rhubarb presse.
If my bank balance would let me i would come here all the time because the level of deliciousness is incredible, my ‘light lunch’ came to a whooping £26.00 but like i said, a treat is needed sometimes, not to mention i’m a huge foodie.
Maybe lobster is ‘on trend’ right now, but my taste buds certainly ain’t complaining!
