The Birchbox Edition: August 15

I realise that we are now towards the later side of August, i wanted to wait a little before blogging about my Birchbox this month so that i could give a few of the products a real good go. This months theme was ‘beauty junkie’, so naturally made for me. Before i start blabbing on i just have to mention the emoji design, sooo cute! Six products to rave about including two make up products (which by the way, are my absolute favourites from the box). So, here’s the usual run down for you:

  1. Rituals Rice Scrub
  2. Lord & Berry Blush
  3. Bionike Cleansing Water
  4. Kebelo Clarifying Shampoo
  5. The Balm Bronzer
  6. L. Erickson Grab & Go Ponytail Holder

I really like this months box as it sways away from skin care, i have collected quite a few samples of lotions and potions and i was looking forward to something a little different. I have tried most of these already and i’m pretty impressed with the majority.

I’ll start with my two favourites first and as mentioned these are the make up products. I’m already completely obsessed with The Balm Bronzer, as you can see from my photo i dunked my brush straight in there. It’s a really lovely colour, perfectly bronzed without an orange tinge to it and it glides onto the skin beautifully. It’s just so, so buildable, plus the packaging is seriously cute! I’m already sold on this and i’m hoping that there is a larger version i can purchase. So the next make up product within the box is the Lord & Berry blush, this brand has always intrigued me although i have yet to try anything from them. The blush itself is a ‘suit all’ shade which at first worried me because i am of a more pale skin tone, but this gave a lovely natural flush of colour and this has made it’s way into my everyday make up bag.

Others in the box that i have already tried is the Rituals body scrub, this is really lovely, not harsh at all it’s a really fine scrub and with it’s calming cherry blossom it does leave the skin silky smooth so really great for a Sunday night pamper session. Another Sunday product i like to incorporate into the routine is the Kebelo clarifying shampoo, this is so great for ‘detoxing’ the hair and basically removing all that gunky build up of product, usually there from piling on the hairspray for a Saturday night spin on the dance floor. Ideal for using once or twice a month so the sample size is extremely generous! I’m sure i’ll get round to testing the others soon enough, they certainly don’t spend long in the box i can assure you of that.

As always, thanks Birchbox, you never fail to disappoint!
