When it comes to cocktails i want light, fresh, fruity and most of all pretty! English Garden Fizz is right up my street, totally summery and British AND super scrummy.
I have had my eye on edible flowers for so long and i often dream over Instagram photos of gorgeous gooey brownies scattered with edible flowers for that extra cute photo worthy touch. In fact a friend of mine often uses them when she bakes, i know this from snooping at her Instagram page constantly and drooling over her stunning creations, which you can find at Neighbourhood Bakes. So, I got my hands on some rose petals, purchased from a baking site called Planet Bake, they had loads of colours to choose from but i picked out ‘Hot Pink’ and they came in the cutest vintage style glass jar. I knew immediately once they had arrived i would want to mix up a cocktail to showcase these pretty petals and i had the idea to pop them into ice cubes. The idea didn’t disappoint and they looked great on the picnic table in the evening summer sun, not only did they look good but tasted divine too, here’s the recipe below. It’s an easy one:
This is a real crowd pleaser and i think the petals are a lovely garnish replacement, so easy on the eye and really impressive with minimal effort. I would normally throw a cute paper straw in the glass too but i was far too eager to have a sip. If you give this a try be sure to show me your snaps!
