The Food Edition: A View From The 31st Floor

Everyone loves a Bank Holiday weekend, it’s a great opportunity to venture somewhere new and try something different. Myself and my friend Tiffany, blogger of tiffanytales, took a trip into the big city to sip on some cocktails. London is a place i go often, it’s so easy to hop on a train as it’s just a half hour journey from me. London is usually perceived as fast paced, on the go, non-stop and not a place you would go to relax. True to some extent but we stumbled across a place famous for relaxing and watching the world go by, literally. The Shard is breathtaking, surrounded by the Thames and The London Bridge the view is picture perfect. You will be spoiled for choice with five bars to pick from, all with a different vibe, there is something to suit everyone. Although i would recommend taking a coat, you will be queuing! The Aqua Shard was our pick, a classic British Restaurant and Bar with slick, clean open interior. With unique glass walls the layout is not for the faint hearted but the cocktail menu will certainly draw you in and distract you.

The cocktails are divine! Not only do they taste good but look great too and presented perfectly. I think every Bank Holiday should be spent with a drink in hand, we guzzled on elderflower champagne cocktails. Got your attention? Take a look at the menu for yourself here. The drinks are on the pricey side but with a view like that it’s worth it. It’s an experience, a memory and to me that’s priceless. The excitement of it all gave us quite an appetite and we ended our evening searching for some late night nibbles.

Ping Pong has always been on my to try list, i love ‘picky food’ and i’m a huge lover of Dim Sum so it was the perfect choice. The food was so delicious, there was an extensive menu and i loved that they had seasonal specials to indulge in. The cocktails were yummy and there is also a selection of Chinese tea’s if you would prefer something non-alcoholic.

All in all a wonderful weekend to tell everyone about at (here creeps in the dreaded four letter word) work. Ouch!

How lovely of you to drop by!
